David brings extensive expertise in automotive and road safety engineering, with deep knowledge spanning: 

• vehicle systems and performance
• human tolerance and injury biomechanics
• road design and the safe system approach.

His foundation in biomedical, mechanical, and traffic engineering — supported by postgraduate qualifications — allows him to take a multidisciplinary view of crash causation and injury prevention.

With 19 years of experience in the road and vehicle safety industry, David has contributed to a wide range of national research projects, crash test initiatives, and safety standards, including work examining the real-world performance of:

• protective clothing and helmets
• child restraint systems
• e‑mobility devices
• emerging autonomous and connected vehicle technologies.

David is highly sought after for his expertise in forensic crash investigations, where he is recognised for his clear, considered analysis and ability to communicate complex findings with clarity and credibility.

Beyond his technical work, David is an active committee member in the NSW Chapter of the Australasian College of Road Safety and is a respected mentor within the road safety community — supporting the next generation of professionals committed to a safe system.
