The word datum means a single point of reference; a known point from which measurements, decisions, and understanding can be built.

At Datum Road Safety, every crash, incident, injury, near miss, and safety concern is a datum.

Each represents a moment when something went wrong. For the people involved, it may have been one of the worst days of their lives. Yet within every event lies valuable information: evidence that helps us understand what happened, why it happened, and how similar harm can be prevented in the future.

We believe meaningful improvements in safety begin with understanding. By carefully examining crashes, workplace transport incidents, road environments, human factors, vehicle performance, and organisational systems, we transform individual events into practical lessons that reduce risk and improve outcomes.
